Sep 24 2011 - 2:00pm

On Saturday, September 24, we'll host our fall MEGA Clean-up event. Volunteers will spread out from Shades to Darlington in order to cover as many miles of the creek as possible. Volunteers can go to any of the sites listed below at the 9 AM start time. Directions can also be found at the bottom of this page.

Sites:
Deer’s Mill Covered Bridge
Bachner Nature Reserve
Sugar Creek Campground
Sugar Creek Nature Park
Darlington Covered Bridge

We would greatly appreciate your advance RSVP so we know how many volunteers will be at each site. We will also give FREE T-SHIRTS to all advance registrants.

At the end of the clean-up work, we will meet at the Elston Softball Diamonds for lunch. This lunch will take place at 1 PM. We will provide trash bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bottled water during the event. Some sites will also have canoes available for hauling trash. We request that you wear clothes that can get dirty/wet. Additional tools, such as shovels and wheelbarrows, would also be helpful if you can bring them.

The event will take place rain or shine, so please bring a jacket. We request that youth under 16 years of age bring an adult or guardian.

Several businesses and organizations have made this event possible.
